Two lights on the Nile

 We have arrived! We are too tired to write much, but we survived our  26+ hour journey to Tanzania and hardly suffered at all. We flew through rain in Seattle, rain in Amsterdam, snow on the Alps, and a gorgeous sunset (having seen a hazy sunrise earlier). Two big highlights out our windows included the vast Sahara desert and the amazing expanse of the Nile River. After dark we spotted one little pair of lights on the Nile, which just seemed magical to any of us who saw.

We are in a guesthouse tonight (with air conditioning! Woo woo) and will set up our tent camp during daylight hours tomorrow. We will tour Moshi first and meet some of the staff at our partner agency, SENE. (More about them later.). We're exhausted but we don't care because tomorrow we wake up in the daylight in Tanzania. Can't wait . . .
